But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things,
and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you. John 14:26

That was a busy morning and a loving grandmother took her grandchildren to the bakery to purchase some pastry, for it was the kids’ grandfather’s birthday. As they were at the counter to pay the bills, the little granddaughter spotted a beautiful cake and was nudging her grandma to get it for grandpa. When the grandma quickly checked her purse, she found that there wasn’t enough cash to buy it. The little girl was disappointed and started sobbing. A kind man, who was watching this at the bakery bought that cake, paid for it and walked to them. The grandma refused to get it, but he insisted saying, “When I was a little boy, I came to this same bakery to buy a special cake on my birthday. My mom couldn’t afford the costly cake I chose to have.

As she was pacifying me standing beside the counter, a gentleman who noticed my cry purchased that cake for me paying the price and handed it over to me, wishing me a Happy Birthday. Since then I had made a decision to help the needy when I had the provision to lend a helping hand. Now it’s my turn, to show the gratitude that gentleman showed, for am not sure, who he was. Please don’t refuse to take this!” As the grandma got the cake, she gave him a piece of paper asking for his contact details, so that she could repay him when she has enough cash. Writing the words, “A simple act of kindness creates an endless ripple”, the kind man handed over the note to the little girl. As he gave the note, he told the little girl, “Promise me, that someday when you are able to help somebody, will you do it?” She nodded in the affirmative and they parted.

Back at home, the grandfather was surprised to see the costly cake and told his wife she should have spent much to purchase it. She replied, “A kind man got it for us, and here is the note he wrote when I asked for his contact details.” On seeing the note, the grandpa remembered it very much, for it was the same words that he had written years back at the bakery to a little boy. Coincidentally, that little boy turned to be the kind man who got the cake for him today. Truly, simple acts of kindness creates endless ripples! The best part of showing kindness is that, it returns to you in due time!
